The floodplain administrator is a federally mandated position responsible for administrering and enforcing the McIntosh County floodplain management program regulations of corrective and prevenative measures for reducing flood damage. These measures take a variety of forms from flood hazard mitigationto permitting and regulatin develpment of anything structural or nonstructural that would affect the flooding characteristics or flood damages.
